PCU Registered Nurse Job in Fishersville, VA

Join Augusta Health as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit for a 26-week travel assignment. You'll work 3x12-hour night shifts with every other Saturday required and every Sunday off, earning $2,233 weekly. This role is ideal for first-time travelers with a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

You'll provide direct care to acutely ill adult patients with diverse medical conditions including cardiac, neuro, renal, infectious disease, and pulmonary disorders. Your responsibilities include coordinating patient care, delivering patient education, and managing a 1:5 patient ratio. Common diagnoses include hypertension, CHF, chest pain, stroke, COPD, PE, arrhythmias, MI, NSTEMI, and GI bleed.

Clinical competencies required include:

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Central line, PICC line, and port access/management
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• IV insulin and vasoactive drip management
• Chest tube and tracheostomy care
• Blood product and heparin administration
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and hemodialysis care

You'll perform specialized procedures including insulin drips for DKAs and assist with pacemakers, ablations, and cardioversions. Required certifications are ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Meditech experience is preferred.

The unit is equipped with Sara Steady, Tenor, Maxi Move, Air Taps, bladder scanner, and vein finder technology.
