ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts in a Level III Trauma Center emergency department
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating requirements
• Must be able to handle very high patient ratios of 1:9
• Work in a 30-bed emergency department with trauma bays
• Chart using MEDITECH system
• Wear dark blue or white scrubs
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
• New York nursing license required
• Must complete unit-specific orientation
• Must pass competency exams with a minimum score of 80%, including:
  - Adult and Pediatric Medication Test (20 questions, multiple choice and fill-in; formula sheet and calculator provided)
  - Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition Exam (16 rhythm strips requiring identification of rhythm and knowledge of treatment or intervention)
• No call-off policy with 14 days written cancellation notice required
