PCU RN Job in Tucson, Arizona

BUMC Tucson is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week for an 89-week assignment beginning October 19, 2026. Weekly compensation is $2,570.

Role Responsibilities

• Float between two campuses to provide nursing support where needed
• May be assigned to any of approximately 16 adult health units at the primary campus, including expanded ED or PACU spaces designated for inpatient adult health patients awaiting unit bed placement
• Support the secondary campus, located approximately 10 minutes away, which includes 4–5 adult health units ranging from Observation to PCU depending on seasonal demand
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document patient nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning, in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed and non-licensed healthcare team members
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; revise care plans as needed

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in state of practice
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience
• Acute care experience within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty area
• Previous travel nursing experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Professional certification

This is a varied work schedule position. The primary facility is BUMC Tucson, located at 1625 N Campbell Ave in Tucson, Arizona.
