RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work in a Neuroscience ICU setting caring for patients with diagnoses including stroke, trauma, seizures, post-craniotomy, CNS infections, neuromuscular diseases, and organ donors
• Weekend coverage required with 12 weekend shifts per contract
• Self-scheduling
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year of experience in a neuro ICU setting
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Must have strong neuro skills with overall 3's and 4's in the Neuro section of the skills checklist, specifically in stroke care
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Care of ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• ICP monitoring experience strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Unit has 28 beds with a daily census of 26
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
• Candidates will float within scope if needed
• Natural nail policy is in effect
• Virginia or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
