Job Details:

• 24 months of current operating room experience required
• Circulating/operating room experience required
• Scrub experience highly preferred
• Experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases required
• Additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, Ear/Nose/Throat, and Vascular highly preferred
• EPIC electronic medical records experience within previous 3 years required
• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred; Trauma Level II experience required
• Must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months - no first-time travelers
• Patient ratio is 1:1 with 16 beds
• Average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with turnovers expected in less than 20 minutes
• 16 operating suites with 12-14 running routinely; space reserved for Level 1 trauma cases
• Service lines include Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Robotics, GYN, Urology, General, Pediatrics, Transplants, ENT, and Plastics
• Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots, Stealth technology for Neuro navigation, and primarily Synthes or Stryker for Ortho trauma
• Both scrubbing and circulating experience preferred
• Weekend call runs from end of shift Friday until 6:30 AM Monday
• Required to float across all campuses
• Scrubs are provided
• Must work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming Summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless unit is closed
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required
• Skills checklist specific to Operating Room Nurse (scrub/scrubbing) required
• Professional reference from charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Driver's license required
