ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's Emergency Department as a registered nurse on a 91-day travel assignment. You'll work the night shift (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) on a 3x12 schedule, earning $2,215 weekly.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a high-volume, 101-bed emergency department. Patient ratios typically run 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. While block scheduling is not available, you'll have every other weekend off with flexibility to meet departmental needs. You must be willing to float within all ED sections, though no floating outside the department is required.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 2 years as a registered nurse with at least 1 year of ER experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications before your start date
• TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS required before start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Background

• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
• Prior HCA employment

Clinical Environment

You'll use Cerner for documentation, Baxter pumps for infusions, and GE monitors for cardiac monitoring. Techs are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage; unit clerks support both day and night shifts. You'll follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintain updated patient boards throughout each visit, and demonstrate strong teamwork with real-time coaching and feedback.
