ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of August 24, 2026. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM–7:15 AM), and your weekly pay is $2,215.

About the Role

The ED is a high-volume department with 101 beds. You'll manage typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You'll float to all sections within the ED as needed, but will not float outside the department. The facility uses Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and Cerner for documentation. Techs are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, triage, and as unit clerks on both day and night shifts.

Expectations

You'll follow AIDET patient experience standards, demonstrate respectful behavior protocols, and keep patient boards updated throughout visits. Navy scrubs are the required uniform. Every other weekend scheduling is required; block scheduling is not available. You must be flexible and comfortable working in all ED areas.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of ER experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications before your start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits is preferred.
