Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 and 48-hour contracts accepted; longer contracts of 13-26 weeks also accepted
• Call required as needed
• Float required as needed within skillset to like units, including inpatient boarding in the ED; travelers are expected to float before core team members
• Every other weekend required
• Must be able to work holidays, including 2 of 3 major holidays
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Daily census of approximately 43 patients
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with general Med/Surg diagnoses
• Procedures include Heparin Drips, High Flow Oxygen, and occasional limited short-term BiPAP with respiratory support
• Documentation and communication systems include PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, and BSSR
• Required to attend monthly unit team meetings on the 4th Wednesday of each month (January–October) at 5:30 PM and the 3rd Wednesday in November and December at 5:30 PM; night shift staff have additional meetings at 7:30 AM on the Friday following each Wednesday meeting
• Contract staff will be assigned to a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Navy and white scrubs required
• 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• BLS certification required
• CPI preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred for night shift travelers
• Epic charting experience preferred
• NC or Compact nursing license required
