PCU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Join Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day travel assignment offering 4x12 night shifts with weekly pay of $2,602.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a 9-bed PCU serving adults with complex pulmonary and respiratory needs. Patient ratios are 1:2–3 across all shifts. You will float within the service line, including to medical-surgical units as needed. Every other weekend is required; no on-call duties.

Required Experience & Credentials

• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience
• Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
• Tracheostomy and ventilator experience (hard requirement)
• Proficiency with long-term ventilation, weaning, and pulmonary rehabilitation
• Telemetry and IV start capability
• Ability to pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred

Clinical Responsibilities

Your duties include tracheostomy and ventilator management alongside respiratory therapy teams, ABG draws (preferred), phlebotomy, central line management, and port access. You will manage patients on long-term mechanical ventilation, support weaning protocols, and deliver care in pulmonary rehabilitation settings.

Scheduling & Hours

Work 36 or 48 hours per week on night shifts. Guaranteed hours are 3 shifts per 13-week period. Assignment length is 91 days, with a start date of November 23, 2026.
