Respiratory Therapist Job in Portland, ME

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at MMC-P Bramhall Campus, a tertiary teaching hospital in Portland, Maine. This is a backfill position for 182 days, starting July 20, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 4x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Call rotation: approximately one shift per month, 2-hour oncoming call requirement
• Weekly pay: $3,010

Role and Responsibilities

• Float across the facility as part of a team of 14–16 RRTs, covering NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, emergency department, adult acute care, and critical care units
• Manage mechanical ventilation and respiratory support equipment, including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:25 in acute care and 1:8 in critical care
• Document and manage care using EPIC electronic medical records system

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience
• Tertiary teaching hospital experience
• Level 1 trauma experience
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required for NICU work

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification
• NICU/PICU experience
• Cardiothoracic experience

Work schedules are determined based on operational needs of the department. Scrubs are provided, or you may wear flexible dress code attire. You will be part of a collaborative respiratory therapy team supporting multiple patient populations and acuity levels across a major medical center.
