ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester – Unity Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment running 3 nights per week on a 12-hour shift schedule, with weekly pay of $2,516.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency setting. Your patient ratio will be 1:5 with mixed acuity levels. Float assignments will occur when census warrants. You must hold a current New York state nursing license at the time of submission and be located more than 75 miles from the facility.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience; 1.5 years preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience is mandatory
• Competency with phlebotomy and IV placement

Essential Skills and Experience

You will manage patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Required competencies include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction/failure care, blood product administration, central line management, emergency medication administration, IV vasopressors, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, procedural sedation monitoring, CVA management, 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation, psychiatric holds, suicidal patient care, overdose management, BiPAP/CPAP support, isolation precautions, and splint application.

Scheduling and Expectations

Shifts are 12 hours, every other weekend required. Block scheduling will be attempted but is not guaranteed. Minimal time off is preferred; requested time off cannot exceed 10 days during the assignment. Scrub color must be a combination of navy and white.

Support Services

You will have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services.
