ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester – Unity Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, offering 4x12-hour night shifts at $2,937 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates through geriatrics—in a mixed-acuity setting with a 1:5 patient ratio. Floating to other units as census demands is required. You must be comfortable managing both adult and pediatric emergency cases, including complex presentations and multi-system organ dysfunction.

Requirements

• Current New York state nursing license in hand at submission
• Minimum 1 year emergency department experience; 1.5 years preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience is mandatory
• Proficiency with phlebotomy and IV placement

Essential Clinical Skills

• 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• IV therapy: starting, maintaining, and managing central lines
• Continuous IV sedation and paralytics administration
• IV vasopressor management and procedural sedation
• Blood product and emergency medication administration
• BiPAP/CPAP and respiratory support
• CVA management, psychiatric holds, and overdose care
• Splint application and isolation precautions

Work Conditions

Night shifts with every-other-weekend requirement. Block scheduling will be attempted but is not guaranteed. Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible. Requested time off cannot exceed 10 days during the assignment.

Facility Support

You will have access to IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services to support your clinical practice.
