ED Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

Rochester General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel contract beginning October 27, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage as needed

Compensation & Location

• Weekly pay: $2,789
• Rochester, NY (candidates within 75 miles of facility are not eligible)

Role Details

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting, managing a 1:5 patient ratio. Your patients will include adults and geriatric individuals presenting with all emergency diagnoses. You will float within your skillset as needed and participate in triage, emergency protocols, and isolation precautions.

Required Credentials & Experience

• Active New York Single State RN license (NY is not Compact)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• EPIC charting experience

Clinical Skills & Competencies

You must be proficient in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV initiation and maintenance. Additional competencies include IV vasopressor administration, CPAP/BiPAP management, ventilator management, cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, CVA and stroke care, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI care, and emergency care for both adult and pediatric patients.

Equipment & Dress Code

Equipment you will use includes Bair huggers, rapid infusers, and safe patient handling equipment. Dress code is any combination of navy blue and white scrubs.

Time Off

Time off requests must be submitted at contract start. A maximum of 10 days of RTO is permitted during the contract period.
