Job Details:

• Work 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
• Full-time position
• Care for surgical patients across multiple specialties including Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB including C-Sections, Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy
• Demonstrate proficiency and independence in the care of patients and their families by applying and documenting the nursing process including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Consult with staff, physicians, and management on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met
• Practice the five rights of medication administration
• Demonstrate efficient time management skills to maximize productivity
• Act as patient advocate, including family in patient care and respecting confidentiality
• Demonstrate communication skills necessary to interact with persons of varying ages and/or cultures
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must have basic computer knowledge
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only), CPI
• Active RN License in the state of New Mexico required
