ICU Registered Nurse Job in Berkeley, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Sutter Health Alta Bates Summit Medical Center Ashby in Berkeley, California. This is a 91-day travel nursing assignment.

Schedule and Compensation

• Three 12-hour shifts per week, nights
• Every other weekend coverage required, with additional weekend shifts based on unit need
• On-call required as needed
• Weekly pay: $2,178
• Assignment starts November 23, 2026

Role Details

You will care for ICU patients with a 2:1 patient ratio. This unit sees a high volume of neurological cases, and strong proficiency with neuro patients is required. You will manage a wide range of ICU skills including arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and multisystem organ dysfunction. Experience with ICP monitoring, EVD management, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, and traumatic brain injury is preferred.

Additional skills expected include blood product administration, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, PICC line management, pulmonary artery line monitoring, and high flow nasal cannula management. You must be proficient with the Epic charting system.

Floating and Staffing

You may float to other units within scope of practice, including Summit or Herrick Campus depending on census and need. A shuttle is provided when floating is requested. You can anticipate approximately 1.5 hours notice prior to shift start time when floating is requested.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) degree
• Valid California RN license
• 3+ years of RN ICU experience (minimum 2 years accepted per facility standards)
• Travel nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
