ICU RN Job in Carmichael, CA

Mercy San Juan Medical Center is seeking an RN to join the Medical ICU in Carmichael, CA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 10, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,262.

Shift and Schedule

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• No on-call or standby obligations
• Self-scheduling available with schedules posted 4 weeks in advance
• Overtime and extra shifts available

Unit Details

• 11-bed Medical ICU with 1:1–2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• First-to-float role; may float to CSICU and other critical care units within scope, as well as to other Sacramento facilities
• Mid-shift floats to another facility are rare but possible

Clinical Responsibilities

• Care for patients with ARDS, sepsis, chronic ventilation, ETOH withdrawal, DKA, CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, and IABP support
• Perform line placements and intubations (common procedures)
• Titrate vasoactive medications, sedation medications, heparin, and insulin drips
• Read and interpret EKG strips independently
• Work with Drager and Hamilton ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment
• CRRT experience preferred (Next Stage system); cardiac skill set preferred

• Hospitalist and intensivist available in-house 24/7
• Pharmacy in-house 24/7
• Phillips monitors on unit
• Cerner charting system
• Unit orientation includes 2 shifts in Medical ICU and 1 shift each in Trauma, Neuro, and Surgical ICUs

Requirements

• RN license
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• BSN not required
• Navy scrubs required; undershirts must be navy, white, or black
