ICU RN Job in Folsom, CA

Mercy Hospital of Folsom is seeking an experienced RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. You will work 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, on the night schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in an 8-bed ICU with a 1:1–2 patient ratio
• Manage patients on ventilators, including Galileo and G5 models
• Read and interpret EKG strips as part of routine assessment
• Perform bedside handoff reports to incoming nursing staff
• Collaborate with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support
• Utilize Cerner EMR for all documentation and clinical workflow
• Participate in manual proning and other evidence-based interventions

Schedule and Staffing:

• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with core staff
• Float to other Sacramento facilities as needed
• On-call placement possible if department census allows
• Self-scheduling model, finalized by manager with 4 weeks' notice
• Overtime and extra shifts available
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for shorter assignments

Patient Population:

Common diagnoses include stable CVA post-TPA, respiratory failure, COPD, CHF, and DKA. This unit does not manage CABG or neurosurgery cases. Telemed robot provides remote physician support in place of an in-house hospitalist or intensivist.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
• Current ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips
• Experience with ventilator management
• BSN not required

Orientation and Dress Code:

You will receive 1–2 days of floor-specific orientation with a preceptor. Scrubs must be navy, with undershirts in navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional if navy.

Compensation:

Weekly pay: $2,262. Assignment begins November 10, 2026.
