Opportunity:

RN - Observation Unit Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with available schedules of 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week with three 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend requirement
• May be expected to work holidays as needed
• Work across two units: Stepdown (6N) and Floor (6C) within a 31-bed unit
• Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 and floor nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Nurse aides available on unit with 3-4 aides for 31 patients
• Charge nurse present on each shift with house supervisor in-house 24/7
• Respiratory therapy in-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
• Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin drips on the floor
• Telemetry available on unit with tele techs; RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Common patient diagnoses include MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, and pain management
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• BSN not required
• West Virginia nursing license required
