ED Registered Nurse Job in Lees Summit, MO

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at BJC West - Saint Lukes East - Lees Summit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 shifts of 12 hours, days
• Varied start times: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or 12:00 PM
• Every third weekend required, or 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts equal your regular shift length
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off
• Weekly pay: $2,013

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience and travel experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, PALS
• Epic charting system proficiency

Clinical Details

• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Float required to all SLHS Metro Emergency Departments; regular floating may occur between departments, units, and facilities
• Serves adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Navy scrubs required

Required Clinical Skills

• Pediatric care: abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, identifying and reporting abuse, infections, mental and behavioral health conditions, poison ingestion, respiratory infections, seizures, sickle cell crisis, skin disorders, and urinary tract infections
• Psychiatric care: acute psychosis, drug overdose, managing violent behavior, psychiatric hold, and suicidal patient management
• IV therapy and phlebotomy: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, phlebotomy, and starting IVs
• Respiratory: chest tube insertion and management, CPAP/BiPAP, interpretation of ABGs, intubation, and ventilated patient care
• Medications: continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors
• Neurological: CVA care
• Cardiac monitoring: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction and failure management, and obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Triage, isolation precautions, and orthopedics: splint management and application

Preferred Skills

• Near drowning and procedural sedation administration
