Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 34-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit with a 1:9 patient ratio on all shifts
• Care delivery model consists of 1 RN, 1 LPN, and 1 PCT per 9 patients; modified teams used when full teams are unavailable
• Float required to other medical/surgical units
• Every other weekend coverage required, or 4 weekend shifts per month
• Treats patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Primary patient diagnoses include hip, knee, and shoulder replacements (joint center of excellence), general surgery cases (appendectomies, exploratory laparotomies, hernias), and medical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Only medical/surgical unit with wall suction, therefore receives all small bowel obstruction (SBO) patients and any patients requiring suction
• Required skills include telemetry monitoring, central line care/management, blood product administration, heparin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, total joint replacement, continuous bladder irrigation, and more
• Charting system is Epic - experience is required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Scrubs: any combination of navy blue and/or white
