Med Surg RN Job in Overland Park, KS

You will work as an RN on a 36-bed orthopedic and spine specialty unit at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. This is a fast-paced med/surg acute care environment where you will care for patients with orthopedic injury, neurological conditions including stroke and head injuries, and traumas.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotate through every 3rd weekend, sometimes every other weekend

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 5–6:1
• Perform wound care and dressing changes
• Work with specialized equipment including traction, external fixators, halos, walkers, gait belts, bed alarms, continuous pulse oximetry, and remote telemetry monitoring
• Use Meditech EMR system for documentation
• Use iPhone 7 with Mobile Heartbeat (iMobile) program for team communication and patient care coordination

Unit Environment

All patient rooms are private. You will work in an acute care setting with high acuity patients requiring orthopedic and neurological specialization.

Requirements

• Active Kansas nursing license
• BLS certification
• NIH certification preferred
• Acute care hospital experience on Med/Surg or Telemetry units required
