Med-Surg RN Job in Overland Park, KS

You will work as a registered nurse on a 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit located on the 4th floor (Tower B) at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. This is a night shift position, working 4 x 12-hour shifts (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.). You will be guaranteed 48 hours per week with 4 weekend shifts required within each 4-week period.

Your Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio on the night shift team, which includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), and 2 patient care technicians.
• Perform procedures including peripheral IV insertion, management, and removal; central line management and removal; Foley catheter insertion, management, and removal; nasogastric tube insertion, management, and removal; drain and wound management; ostomy care; continuous bladder irrigation; and chest tube management.
• Perform 12-lead electrocardiograms and interpret basic dysrhythmias.

Equipment and Systems

• Operate Alaris IV pumps, Hoyer and Sarah Steady lifts, feeding pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, and Vein Finder technology.
• Document and manage patient care in the Meditech electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• Current RN license.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required.
• Prior inpatient acute care experience required.
• Basic dysrhythmias knowledge required.
• Experience at a trauma center is preferred.

Position Details

• Assignment duration: 91 days.
• Start date: December 14, 2026.
• Weekly pay: $2,360.
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs with black pants permitted.
