About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is an 8-week travel contract beginning September 29, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

  • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Three shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday coverage as needed
  • Weekly pay: $2,218

Patient Care & Clinical Environment

  • Patient ratios of 1:4–5 serving adult and geriatric populations
  • Primary diagnoses: long-term pulmonary patients, ENT surgery, and post-surgical step-down cases
  • Float to ICU and medical-surgical units within your skillset as needed

Required Clinical Skills

  • Telemetry and step-down level care
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Rapid Response and Code team participation
  • Nasal cannula and oxygen administration
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Cardiac drip management (non-titration)
  • Blood product administration
  • Central and peripheral line care and management
  • IV therapy and phlebotomy
  • Isolation precautions

Requirements

  • Active New York Single State RN license (not Compact; pending licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
  • Travel healthcare experience required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and valid NIHSS certifications
  • EPIC charting system experience
  • Scrubs: any combination of navy blue and white

Pre-approved time-off requests must be submitted upon contract acceptance. The client may cancel up to three shifts during the 8-week period. This role is ideal for nurses seeking step-down care experience in a structured, fast-paced environment.
