PCU Registered Nurse Job in Rochester, NY

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 12-bed Progressive Care Unit at Rochester – Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 2, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,336.95.

Schedule & Basics

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, nights
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Float assignments to the Medical-Surgical unit
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility
• New York state nursing license required

Patient Care Details

You'll provide direct nursing care to adults and geriatrics with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio. Patient diagnoses include DKA, acute respiratory needs (BiPap, High Flow, Vent/Trachs), ETOH withdrawal, sepsis, CPORTS, and other nursing-intensive conditions.

Required Skills & Competencies

• ACLS and BLS certifications
• Epic charting system experience (hard requirement)
• Phlebotomy competency and IV placement
• Central line care and management
• Tracheostomy care and management
• Feeding tube care and management
• PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• High-flow nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
• IV insulin protocols and heparin protocols
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• PCA pump operation
• Wound care and wound vac management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Equipment & Experience

You must have experience with CADDS and PCA pumps. Scrub colors are navy blue and white.

Support Available

The unit offers interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services.

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required. First-time travelers are accepted.
