PCU RN Job in Albany, NY

Albany Medical Center is hiring a registered nurse for the Progressive Care Unit on a 91-day travel assignment. You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week at $2,462 weekly pay, starting October 12, 2026.

Role Overview

You will care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients in a high-acuity setting. Your average patient load will be three patients, requiring competency across both medical and surgical populations. You must demonstrate advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage complex, multi-system cases.

Required Clinical Competencies

• ACLS certification
• Epic electronic medical record experience
• Advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols
• Antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcotic drips, thromboembolitics
• Arterial lines, central venous pressure monitoring, external ventricular drains, orthopedic traction
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen-dependent patient management

Clinical Experience Required

You will handle respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Large-scale adult PCU experience and community hospital ICU experience are preferred.

• Navy blue scrubs required as dress code
• Strict adherence to infection prevention protocols
• Competency test required within 24 hours of submission
