PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You'll work a 3x12 day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with guaranteed 36 hours per week and an every-other weekend and holiday rotation.

This 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit handles a fast-paced, high patient turnover environment. Your typical patient ratio is 1:4. You'll care for post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablation, acute CP/MI patients, plus med/surg overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, and respiratory failure cases. Femoral-popliteal bypass patients are also part of the census. You may float to other inpatient units as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience
• At least one prior travel assignment
• 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience
• Ability to pass an EKG test during your first week
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; your contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours. You'll work in a casual dress environment—any scrub color is acceptable.
