About this role

You'll provide direct patient care in the Intensive Care Unit at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center as a registered nurse on a six-month contract assignment. This role offers the opportunity to work a consistent night schedule while supporting the facility through a busy winter period.

Position Details

  • Work 12.5-hour night shifts beginning at 7:00 PM and ending at 7:30 AM
  • Three shifts per week
  • Every other weekend schedule
  • Every other holiday schedule
  • Six-month duration, starting July 13, 2026

Compensation and Schedule

You'll earn $2,342.34 per week. The assignment runs for 181 days, giving you a defined engagement period with clear start and end dates. Night shift work and the extended 12.5-hour blocks mean you'll have structured downtime between your working days.

What You'll Do

As an RN in the ICU, you'll assess and monitor critically ill patients, administer medications and treatments, manage complex medical equipment, and communicate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams. Your nursing judgment and clinical skills will directly impact patient outcomes during high-acuity care situations. You'll work alongside experienced ICU staff and contribute to a unit environment that prioritizes both patient safety and staff collaboration.
