ICU Registered Nurse Job in Grinnell, IA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a 5-bed ICU unit at UnityPoint - Grinnell Regional Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment on a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, starting October 12, 2026. Your weekly pay is $2,313.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, sometimes 1:3 during overflow periods
• Care for ICU patients including those on ventilators, BiPAP, Airvo, bariatric surgery patients, and general surgery patients
• Administer critical drips including propofol, levophed, diltiazem, insulin, and heparin
• Float between ICU, stepdown, and Med Surg units as needed
• Work in the Med Surg unit (23 beds, 1:5 ratio) caring for bariatric surgery, orthopedic, and general med surg patients when assigned
• Manage care for 2–5 patients per shift

Schedule and Requirements

• Every third weekend schedule required
• Willingness to work 1–2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Must be located at least 50 miles from the facility

Qualifications

• 24 months of recent or current ICU experience
• Travel experience within the previous 24 months
• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• EPIC EMR experience
• Telemetry reading and measurement ability
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• NIHSS certificate preferred; can be obtained during onboarding
• Completion of ICU/Intensive Care-specific skills checklist
• Med Surg experience strongly encouraged
