Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts, 3 days per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend coverage required, may change based on need
• Float to similar units required if needed
• Patient ratios: 6 patients on days, 7 patients on nights and weekends
• Daily census of 30 patients; 30-bed unit serving adult and geriatric populations
• Must have at least 1 year of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Must have at least 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
• First-time travelers will be considered based on experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active RN Tennessee license required
• Medication system: Omnicell
• Special procedures include post heart cath care and bedside procedures such as dialysis cath, thoracentesis, and incision & drainage
• Required skills include blood product administration, central line care and management, heparin protocols, interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions and PPE, cardiac drip management without titration, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral and PICC line management, pre and post hemodialysis management, starting and maintaining IVs, TR Band, and wound care and wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Patient diagnoses include general medical, pre and post-operative care
