Telemetry RN Job in Memphis, TN

Methodist University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 45-bed Telemetry unit in Memphis, Tennessee. This is a day shift position working 4 consecutive 12-hour shifts per week, starting October 5, 2026, for a 91-day assignment.

Role Overview

You will join a team nursing model where you split your patient caseload with another RN, an LPN, and a Med Nurse. Your patient ratio will be 1:6/7, and the unit maintains a daily census of 30–35 patients. The unit primarily serves surgical oncology patients with medical oncology and med-surg overflow, caring for adults and geriatric populations.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform wound care, drain management, ostomy care, and Foley catheter management
• Manage central lines including PACCs, PICC lines, and midlines
• Operate PCA pumps and administer chemotherapy (for ONS-certified nurses only)
• Start IVs and manage conscious sedation
• Coordinate with limited phlebotomy coverage available at night

Requirements

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience; 3+ years preferred
• Travel experience required; first-time travelers typically not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Large hospital experience required
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• ADN or BSN degree accepted

Schedule and Support

On-call and weekend coverage required as needed. You must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays if all three fall within your assignment, or at least 1 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment. EPIC experience is preferred. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,466.
