Respiratory Therapist Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a Respiratory Therapist on a travel assignment at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day backfill position running 3×12 day shifts, starting October 19, 2026. You'll earn $1,532 weekly.

Your Role

You'll float across all critical care units and floors as part of the respiratory therapy team. Day shift staffing includes 15–20 RRTs covering adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU/Pediatric service lines. Patient ratios range from 10 to 25 patients depending on acuity and unit assignment. You'll manage ventilators, high-flow oxygen devices, and non-invasive respiratory support equipment in dynamic clinical settings.

Equipment & Systems

You'll work with:

• GE R860 Adult ventilators
• Draeger Infant/Pediatric ventilators
• Newport HT70 transport ventilator
• V60 Non-invasive devices
• Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen systems
• Cerner EMR for documentation

Requirements

Only Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRT) will be reviewed. You must hold:

• RRT certification
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
• North Carolina Respiratory License
• NRP certification (preferred)

Schedule

You'll work day shifts with a variable weekend schedule requiring at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle. Dress code is medium gray/pewter scrubs.

This assignment places you in a 300+ bed acute care facility with established protocols and collaborative respiratory therapy leadership. You'll gain experience across multiple patient populations and acuity levels while maintaining continuity during a critical staffing period.
