PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

BJC West – Saint Lukes Hospital Plaza is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment on the Progressive Care Unit (Renal). You will provide direct patient care in a 1:5 patient ratio, with rare occasions flexing to 1:6, working three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Role Responsibilities:

• Care for adult patients on the renal progressive care unit, including transplant recipients, dialysis patients, and those with acute renal failure
• Manage patients on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis catheters, PICC lines, central lines, and peripheral lines
• Administer blood products, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and PCA medications
• Perform wound care and wound vac management as needed
• Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Collaborate with Rapid Response Teams and interdisciplinary support services
• Accept holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS and NIHSS certifications
• Two years of experience with renal transplant, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis catheters, drains, TPN, wound care, and acute renal rejection
• Trauma Level I facility experience required
• Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, IV line management, and central line care
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

Assignment Details:

• Dates: November 9, 2026 through February 8, 2027
• Schedule: 3x12 nights; 8 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
• No on-call required
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per contract
• Weekly pay: $2,294
• Free parking; navy scrubs required

Interdisciplinary support is available, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Unit Secretary assistance.
