Med Surg RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center MO is seeking a registered nurse for a 91-day travel assignment on our Med Surg unit. You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week (7 AM to 7 PM), including three weekend shifts per schedule period, at a weekly pay of $1,971.

Your Role

You'll care for post-operative orthopedic patients, including those recovering from knee, hip, and shoulder replacements. Your responsibilities include managing trauma patients and overflow neuro cases, maintaining patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5, and performing hourly rounding and bedside shift reports. You'll work with specialized equipment such as traction, fixators, and cooling systems.

Unit Operations

You may float to other Med Surg units including General Med Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma (contract labor floats first). You'll document in Meditech and collaborate with unit secretaries and patient care technicians to deliver comprehensive patient care. Navy scrubs are required as part of your dress code.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• BLS certification
• Orthopedic experience required
• Telemetry experience preferred
• NIH stroke scale experience preferred
