ED - Emergency Room

RN - ER

Job Details:

• 54-bed Emergency Department averaging approximately 120 patient visits per day
• Patient ratio of 1:4-6 in the Emergency Department
• Support 2 locked Behavioral Health units in the ED with a 1:6 patient ratio, supported by a security team
• Float between two rapid evaluation units for urgent care and critical care needs within scope
• Treat patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday coverage is required during the contract period
• One pre-approved time-off request permitted per contract and must be included at time of contract review
• 3 years of Emergency Department experience required; may consider 2 years of Level I or Level II trauma experience
• Precepting and training experience preferred
• Charting system: Cerner with FirstNet and Launch
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and Prophecy Relias Advanced Emergency Department assessment
• 4 hours of annual stroke continuing education units required
• CEN certification preferred
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Key skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, IV vasopressor management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, isolation precautions and PPE, and triage
