Med Surg RN Job in Geneva, NY

Finger Lakes Health Geneva General Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its Med Surg unit. You will work 36 hours per week on 3x12 rotating shifts with variable day and night schedules, plus two on-call shifts every four weeks. This is a 159-day travel position starting September 21, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,205. Extended contracts through holidays are required.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening, observation, and health team communication
• Develop and implement individualized, age-appropriate plans of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide direct care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans based on patient response or change in condition
• Provide patient and family education to support self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes
• Promote comfort and emotional support within a Healing Environment
• Administer medications and apply clinical interventions as required
• Advocate for patient health, safety, and rights while encouraging teamwork and cooperation
• Delegate tasks and interventions consistent with team members' education, training, and scope of practice
• Comply with infection prevention strategies to safeguard public safety
• Participate in quality improvement activities and self-evaluation of nursing practice

Minimum requirements:

• Current New York State RN Licensure
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Med Surg environment as a Registered Nurse
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS certification
