PCU Registered Nurse Job in Prescott, AZ

Yavapai Regional Medical Center - West is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position. You will work as a float pool nurse covering PCU and Medical-Surgical Telemetry across both campuses, with occasional ED inpatient holding assignments.

• Shift and Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Every other weekend required. Schedule published 6 weeks in advance for 4-week blocks. Unit assignments communicated 2 hours prior to shift start via text.
• Compensation: $2,208 weekly. 91-day contract. Start date: November 2, 2026.
• Patient Care: PCU nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4; Medical-Surgical Tele ratio 1:5–6. You will care for geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-op day 3–4 patients.
• Clinical Skills: Titrate drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. Interpret telemetry strips. Operate CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow respiratory equipment.
• Requirements: Minimum 1 year PCU setting experience. Current BLS and ACLS certifications required. Must complete and pass a dysrhythmia exam (80% passing score) within two attempts prior to contract signing.
• Orientation: 32 hours total, including general hospital orientation, Medical Tele shift, and PCU shift. Charting system is Cerner.
• Logistics: Distance between campuses approximately 20–25 minutes. Professional solid-color scrubs required, transitioning to Navy scrubs in October. Included in holiday rotation with permanent staff.
