Emergency Department RN Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Rochester – Unity Hospital in Rochester, New York. This is a 91-day travel assignment running three 12-hour shifts per week on days, with an expected start date of November 16, 2026.

Role Details

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics—with a typical patient ratio of 1:5 and mixed acuity levels. Float duties are required when census demands. You will handle emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, phlebotomy, IV placement and maintenance, central line care, blood product administration, 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation, and dysrhythmia management. Additional competencies include CVA management, BiPAP/CPAP, psychiatric holds, suicidal patient care, drug overdose management, and splint application.

Requirements

• New York state nursing license required at submission
• Minimum 1 year emergency department experience; 1.5 years preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Epic charting experience is mandatory
• Demonstrated competency with phlebotomy and IV placement
• Ability to work every other weekend
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Assignment Details

Block scheduling will be attempted but is not guaranteed. Requested time off cannot exceed 10 days. Scrub color should be any combination of navy and white. Interdisciplinary support is available through IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,426. This is a 91-day assignment with an expected start of November 16, 2026.
