PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Night shift position on a 36-bed Cardiac/Vascular Unit (PCU/Stepdown)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• Nurse aide support available at a 1:12 ratio
• Charge nurse carries no patient assignment
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• May be asked to float within Zone 1 facilities or into other acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter assignments)
• Provide care for cardiac, respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery patients
• Must be able to manage non-invasive respiratory support including BiPAP, heated high flow, and CPAP
• Must be able to manage titratable drips including cardiac, antihypertensive, metabolic, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia
• Chest tube management required
• Rhythm strips read by monitor technician but verified by RN using GE telemonitor system
• Rhythm strips are paper-based and do not interface with EPIC
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Valid Colorado RN license required
