Med Surg RN Job in Redding, CA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed Medical-Surgical unit at Mercy Medical Center Redding, a Level 2 Trauma facility. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 17, 2026, with compensation of $1,924 per week.

Schedule & Shift Details

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend schedule required, with 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week cycle
• Hospital may cancel up to 3 shifts during this assignment

Unit Environment

• Patient ratio of 1:5 on the Med Surg unit
• Care for medical patients and post-operative/surgical populations
• First to float policy—you may float to telemetry at 1:4 ratio or between med/surg floors as needed
• Portable telemetry boxes available with monitor technician on staff; you must be able to read and interpret telemetry and complete a dysrhythmia exam
• No ventilator patients on this unit

Staffing & Support

• Two nurse aides on day shifts; one on nights
• Clinical supervisor serves as charge nurse, provides break relief, and carries no patient assignment
• Hospitalist, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on staff

Systems & Requirements

• Cerner EMR charting system
• Navy scrubs required
• One-shift floor-specific orientation provided at start
• BLS Certification required
• Minimum 2–3 years Med Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel healthcare experience required
