PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, a 20-bed unit specializing in adult neurological care. This is a 91-day travel assignment with three 12-hour day shifts per week, running from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.

Schedule and Staffing:

• 3x12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• Self-scheduling unit with block scheduling available upon request
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Patient ratio: 1:4 during days, nights, and weekends (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)

Clinical Focus:

The PCU serves patients with neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, medical overflow, and 24-hour epilepsy monitoring (5 dedicated beds). You will provide care including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, medication administration, cardiac drips (non-titrating), respiratory support, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions. You may be required to float to units within your clinical skillset.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC charting experience
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Weekly pay is $2,016. All requested time off must be submitted with your application.
