RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed 48 hours per week
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed - unit will typically low census in 4-hour increments and may ask travelers to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Work on a Medical and Pediatrics unit treating adult patients (travelers do not take Pediatrics patients)
• Common diagnoses include respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal
• Typical patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days and 1:6-7 on nights
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required; Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Must be able to work independently, manage tasks in a timely manner, collaborate with team and ancillary staff, and maintain a positive attitude with flexibility to handle constant changes throughout a shift
