Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract on the inpatient rehabilitation unit. You will work 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (6:00 PM to 6:30 AM) with a guaranteed 48 hours weekly and overtime available beyond that threshold.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care on a 12-bed inpatient rehab unit as your primary assignment
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:6 during evening hours and 1:8 during night shifts
• Float to other inpatient units as needed
• Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation schedules
• Care for patients with diagnoses including stroke, trauma, debility, amputation, and cardiac conditions
• Document care using the Epic charting system

Qualifications:

• Current Wisconsin RN license and AHA or ARC BLS certification required
• One year of medical-surgical or rehabilitation hospital experience preferred
• Required experience in an inpatient hospital setting (STAC)
• Medical or surgical background accepted in place of dedicated rehab experience
• Epic experience preferred
• Rehabilitation knowledge required
• Associate degree or certificate required; Bachelor's degree preferred

Compensation and Schedule:

• Weekly pay: $2,521
• Contract includes 36 hours of low-census unbillable time, usable in hourly increments as needed
• All scrub colors permitted
