ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an RN for a 91-day travel assignment in the Emergency Department. You'll work 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, on nights (12:45 PM–1:15 AM), earning $1,885 weekly.

Role Overview

You'll care for patients in a 101-bed Emergency Department. Typical patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You'll use Baxter pumps and GE monitors, and document in the Cerner electronic health record system. Techs and unit clerks support the unit across all shifts, assisting with cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage.

Unit Culture and Standards

The department operates under AIDET patient experience standards. You must maintain respectful behavior, keep patient boards current throughout each visit, and wear navy scrubs as the required uniform. You'll work every other weekend and must remain flexible to float to all ED sections—no floating outside the department is required.

Required Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 2 years as a nurse with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Current certifications required on hire: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually)
• Previous HCA healthcare system experience
