PCU RN Job in Omaha, NE

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 31, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts at $2,384.64 per week.

Shift and Schedule

• 12-hour night shifts: 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Every third holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement

Unit Overview

The 35-bed PCU serves adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes management, and continuous EEG monitoring. You will work with a patient ratio of 1:4–5 with nurse aides and patient care techs supporting at 1:10 or 2:20.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Titrate drips including Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced environment
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed
• Chart in EPIC

Onboarding and Orientation

You will receive one week of general onboarding followed by 1–2 days of unit-specific orientation on the floor. During orientation, you must pass a pass/fail open book exam with a minimum score of 90%.

Required Certifications and Credentials

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS
• Valid driver's license (required at time of submittal)

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. You will need strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities to succeed in this fast-paced setting.
