Telemetry RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South is seeking an RN for a 13-week travel assignment on the Cardiac Telemetry unit (4 South). You will work night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule with weekly pay of $2,055.

Unit Overview

The 32-bed telemetry unit is fast-paced and high-acuity. Monitor technicians watch patients and telemetry monitors at each nurse's station. You will float as needed to similar or lower acuity units. Patient ratios on nights range from 1:6 to 1:8 (estimates, not guarantees).

Patient Population & Clinical Skills

You will care for patients with CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis needs. Overflow patients may include sepsis, urology, surgical cases, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds.

Required skills include reading telemetry, managing CHF and chest pain patients, renal and hemodialysis care, and administering Amiodarone and Cardizem drips. You must be comfortable with central lines (HD catheters, ports, PICCs).

Preferred skills include Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation, dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips, chest tubes, other drains, and CIWA withdrawal protocol.

Assignment Details

Every other weekend is required. There are no call requirements. Weekly guaranteed hours are 36 or 48 (to be indicated on submission). Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; you must be available the entire orientation week.

Requirements & Credentials

• Current RN license eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year inpatient telemetry or cardiac telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS from AHA (required)

Equipment & Systems

You will use lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring. The EMR system is EPIC.

Dress Code

Black tops and pants required; tops must display the Mercy cross logo on the left chest. Undershirts and long-sleeve shirts are acceptable in black, white, yellow, green, red, or blue.
