Med Surg RN Job in Americus, GA

You'll work as a registered nurse on a 36-bed acute care medical-surgical unit at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. This is a 119-day travel assignment starting September 14, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,073.60.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required
• 12-hour cancellation policy every 2 weeks

Your Role

You'll care for patients on a unit equipped with telemetry capabilities using the MEDITECH electronic medical record system. Patient ratios are 6:1 for RN/LPN and 12:1 for CNA support. You'll assume charge nurse responsibilities and may float to other units as needed. Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ESRD, pneumonia, renal failure, sickle cell crisis, orthopedic and bariatric surgery, altered mental status, and sepsis.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in hospital medical-surgical units
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Must maintain 75-mile radius from driver's license address to facility
• BSN degree not required

Support and Resources

You'll receive a floor-specific orientation for 3 shifts. The facility offers 24/7 in-house hospitalist coverage and respiratory therapy. PICC team consultation is available when needed. You'll work alongside nurse aides for patient care support.
