Operating Room RN Job in Abilene, TX

Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning December 7, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,436.48.

Schedule and Shift Options

• Primary schedule: 3x12 days (Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday)
• Alternative schedules available: 4x10 shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM or 8:30 AM–7:00 PM) or 5x8 shifts (6:30 AM–3:00 PM) based on your preference
• Call required as needed; weekend shifts vary per contract
• One pre-approved time off request permitted

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience are a hard stop requirement
• Patient ratio: 1:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Required certification: BLS
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, CNOR, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC

Clinical Focus

You will work with specialties including Neuro/Spine, Ortho/Trauma, and General/Robotics/Trauma. Patient populations include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Procedures typically include craniotomy, spinal fusion, total joint replacement, laminectomy/discectomy, laparoscopic-assisted procedures, lumbar fusion, and orthopedic/trauma cases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience
• Previous charge experience
• Travel healthcare experience
• Altera/Allscripts charting experience (not required)
