RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• First to float between both Med Surg units; travelers will have a home base unit
• 1 shift of orientation on each unit (total of 2 orientation shifts)
• Patient ratio of 5 to 1
• Unit: 2W Med Surg with 55 beds
• Must read EKG strips and be comfortable working with telemetry patients
• No ventilator experience required
• Charge nurse available and does not take patients
• Nurse aides (PCTs) available, 1 to 3 depending on census
• IV and PICC team available during the day
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
• Pharmacy available 24/7
• Hospitalist or intensivist in house
• Charting system: Cerner - experience is required
• Required certifications: BLS
• Scrub color: Navy
• 3 to 4 years of Med Surg experience required for day shift; minimum 2 years of solid Med Surg experience required for night shift
• Must demonstrate a strong, humble, and positive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
