Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You'll work as a registered nurse on a Long Term Antibiotics unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is an acute care setting where you'll provide direct patient care in a 22-bed unit with private rooms.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Weekends and holidays required as scheduled
• 91-day assignment starting October 19, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,208

Your Role

• Patient ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6 (charge nurses may carry 2–4 patients at times)
• Care for patients with complex infection diagnoses including endocarditis, abscesses, septic arthritis, sepsis, osteomyelitis, and diabetic foot infections
• Work with patients who have underlying substance use histories
• Monitor patients using portable telemetry packs for cardiac monitoring
• Chart using the EPIC electronic health record system
• Follow established protocols; titration is performed by physician orders only

Requirements and Experience

• Current RN license
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Strong neurology experience required
• Experience working with patients who have underlying substance use histories required
• BSN not required
• Nurses are not required to read or interpret cardiac monitor strips

Orientation and Policies

• 1–2 orientation shifts with a preceptor on the unit
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week assignment, 1 shift for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
