Med Surg RN Job in Parkersburg, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the 1E Med Surg/Infectious Disease unit at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 5, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM with 30-minute lunch break)
• Every-other-weekend requirement (Friday/Saturday/Sunday for nights)
• Weekly pay: $2,224

Unit Details

You will care for patients on a 18-bed private-room unit specializing in infectious diseases. Typical patient ratios are 1:5–6, reducing to 1:4 when COVID patients are present. You will manage patients with isolation precautions, COVID, MRSA, and C. difficile infections.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of Med Surg nursing, infectious disease care, and isolation protocols
• Administer Heparin, IV medications, and antibiotics typical to Med Surg settings
• No cardiac drips or ventilator management required
• Remote telemetry monitoring occurs on the 3rd floor; you will not read or interpret strips
• Float to other Med Surg units as needed (first priority)

Requirements and Expectations

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Travel experience required
• EPIC experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• Unexpired driver's license must be submitted with application
• Royal blue scrubs required; scrub jackets must also be royal blue if worn
• Holiday work may be required based on unit needs
• Low census call-offs possible in this acute care setting

Orientation

You will receive a 2-day orientation: one day of EPIC training and one day of floor orientation with a preceptor.
